Meet Matthew….
Matthew Beier MS, RN, CNS-BC, APNP, CNOR
Mr. Beier is a board-certified clinical nurse specialist with over 20 years of experience in perioperative nursing, quality and process improvement, policy and procedure development, and leadership in healthcare. He holds a bachelor’s and master's degree in nursing from UW Milwaukee. Additionally, he holds a CNOR perioperative nursing certification and is licensed as an APNP for the state of WI. He is also certified as a lean Six Sigma Black belt.
He has held a variety of roles within the perioperative environment, including bedside nurse, surgical assistant, manager of surgical services, and director of surgical services. He is currently a perioperative clinical nurse specialist for Children’s Wisconsin. He is responsible for the clinical quality outcomes of the care provided in the operative environment. He focuses on staff education, orientation, evidence-based practice, research, and accreditation readiness. He also serves as a consultant and mentor to staff and colleagues, ensuring the best practices are followed and that all patients receive the best and safest care.

3) Begin to understand ways to increase collaboration between roles and departments (practical ideas to take back)
